Care Guides
- Training
- Independent and stubborn — requires patient, consistent training. Responds to positive methods but on their own terms. Not for first-time owners.
- Grooming
- Professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Hand-strip or clip the wiry coat. Brush 2-3 times weekly. Beard and eyebrows need regular trimming.
- Health
- Higher risk of bladder cancer (transitional cell carcinoma), von Willebrand's disease, and Scottie cramp. Regular vet checks essential.
- Exercise
- Moderate — 30-45 minutes daily. Enjoys walks and play but not a high-endurance breed. Loves digging.
