Training
Independent but trainable with consistent methods. Early socialization important. Responds to positive reinforcement and firm guidance.
Grooming
Brush 2-3 times weekly; daily during shedding season. Dense double coat sheds heavily twice yearly. Never shave.
Health
Screen for hip dysplasia, progressive retinal atrophy, and kidney disease. Watch for sebaceous cysts.
Exercise
High energy requiring 60-90 minutes of daily exercise. Loves hiking and cold weather activities.
